Here we have a photograph of a young couple at their College Ball. Unfortunately, the camera batteries were near flat, so the flash didn't fire at full power, resulting in an under-exposed photo (left).  
By carefully increasing both the overall contrast of the image, as well as selectively altering the saturation (intensity) of some of the colours, the photograph was considerably improved (right). |
