PHOTO MANIPULATION - Alter Contrast & Brightness to improve the "Look" of a photo

Here we have a photograph of a young couple at their College Ball. Unfortunately, the camera batteries were near flat, so the flash didn't fire at full power, resulting in an under-exposed photo.

By carefully increasing both the overall contrast of the image, as well as selectively altering the saturation (intensity) of some of the colours, the photograph was considerably improved.
